Amazon Transportation Program Manager, External Fulfillment in NSW, Australia

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team in an emerging business at Amazon. This role will help to ensure our delivery promises to our customers are fulfilled on time and that we continuously improve Amazon Australia’s delivery experience on behalf of our customers. The successful candidate will drive continuous improvement initiatives with carriers, external fulfillment centers, technical, customer service and retail teams. This leader will be a natural self-starter who is comfortable supporting both daily execution activities and large, complex and cross-functional projects.

Key job responsibilities

As a Program Manager focusing on external fulfilment operations, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinate with external fulfillment partners to ensure timely and accurate product fulfillment aligned with our transport operational standards and customer expectations.

  • Act as a primary point of contact for external fulfillment issues, managing communications and resolutions between stakeholders.

  • Monitor and analyze fulfillment performance metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement.

  • Coordinate projects to improve fulfillment speed, reduce costs, and enhance overall service quality.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovation and efficiency in external fulfillment transport operations.

  • Work with BI team to design detailed reporting to track key operational metrics and performance indicators.

  • Provide regular reports to management on fulfillment operations, highlighting achievements and identifying challenges with actionable insights for improvement.

  • Utilize data analytics tools and techniques to drive decision-making and support strategic operational initiatives.

  • Work closely with internal teams, including supply chain, customer service, and finance, to ensure seamless integration of external fulfillment transportation processes.

  • Collaborate with external partners to ensure alignment with transportation operational goals and standards, conducting regular performance reviews.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)

  • 2+ years of professional supply chain and logistics, operations, and/or e-commerce experience

  • Ability to prepare, report and interpret large sets of data.

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Strong inter-personal and relationship-building skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, finance or related technical or quantitative field

  • Proficiency in SQL and Tableau.

  • 1+ years of experience managing last mile carrier partners in Australia.
