Architect (full-time, multiple openings) needed in Oakland, CA to determine how to strategically and pragmatically approach the design of the project through arrangement of building program, adjacencies, circulation, and other user needs. Provide design authorship and innovative solutions for building enclosure, which includes considerations of urban and site context, designing for pedestrian scale in addition to overall composition, and sustainability through control of energy loads and material selection. Lead all project phases to drive client projects from concept through design development to obtain client approval of the design. This includes conceptual designs, presentations, schematic design (graphic presentations, physical models, 3D renderings) and design development. Collaborate and communicate with design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, vendors and regulatory agencies to create presentations to meet overall project objectives. Visually synthesize client project goals and direct assimilation into the project. Lead pre-design tasks, including occupancy studies and zoning analyses. Once the designs are developed, prepare and produce detailed Revit drawings and ensure that the client, project team and contractors can easily comprehend designs. Advise and support the Construction Administration process, including observations of builder compliance with design specifications, responding to substitution requests, RFI's (requests for information), reviewing shop drawings and submittals by contractor and advise on design corrections. Conduct and document site visits. Research and specify materials appropriate for project execution to validate that they are the right materials based on performance criteria. Lead the sustainability integration and coordination of any project certifications as part of the requirements for the project.

Must have a Master's Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field, plus two (2) years of design experience with all of the following:

(1) 2D and 3D Software, AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, 3DS Max, Bluebeam Revue, and Enscape; (2) Producing high quality renderings, site plans, sections, elevations and construction details for technology, life science, and retail clients; (3) Coordinating with Structural, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing), Lighting, Facade, Acoustics, AV, and other consultants; (4) Construction Administration experience with large-scale corporate campuses and with technology companies. (5) Preparing full Design Development, Schematic Design, Construction Document sets in Revit; (6) Utilizing site surveys, design sketches and other inputs to prepare digital architectural models using Revit and/CAD based on BIM development standards; (7) Working knowledge of building codes, standards, building construction, and building structures; (8) Developing all design stages of large complex projects and experience in mixed use, business office, and retail development; (9) Developing the schematic design of the core and shell of a building, plus the lobby, curtain wall system, parking, elevator banks, core bathrooms and terraces; AND (10) Commercial office buildings of size and scale that requires Type I and II construction with corresponding life-safety requirements.

In the alternative, we will accept a Bachelor's Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Architecture, Interior Design or related field, plus five (5) years of progressive post bachelors degree design experience. Two (2) years of the five (5) years of progressive post-bachelor's degree design experience must include experience with the following:
