Director of Community Day Supports:

 

The Community Day Supports Director is responsible for overseeing the orientation, planning, recruitment, training, and supervision of staff within the Community Day Supports (CDS) program. This role ensures that services provided align with the values, philosophy, and service process of the organization while meeting the individual needs and desires of consumers. Additionally, the Manager monitors the program to maintain consistency with Individual Support Plans (ISP) and regulatory requirements while fostering collaboration with external stakeholders .

Schedule: 

  • Full-time, Salaried, Non-Bargaining Team Position, Monday-Friday 8 AM-6 PM Flex

  • Locations: Oakland, Berkeley, Emeryville, Albany, Hayward, Castro Valley, and San Leandro

     

    Special Skills and Knowledge: An understanding and commitment to the philosophy of integration, normalization, and consumer-driven services.  Ability to work cooperatively with consumers, their support systems, co-workers, and other agencies.  Ability to solve problems both independently and as part of a team.  Possession of a valid California driver’s license, a driving record that meets agency standards, auto insurance, and access to a vehicle.

    Education: Bachelor’s degree in human services (exception made by Executive Director)

    Experience: A minimum of five years experience providing services to individuals with disabilities, including a minimum of two years as a supervisor or manager in a human service agency. 

    Salary:   $73,651 Annually

    Duties and responsibilities:

     

  • Provides orientation of CDS values and philosophy and service process to new consumers and their circles of support.

  • Provides planning to assist each consumer to identify needs and desires for day support services.

  • Recruits, hires, trains, and supervises CDS Coordinator, Specialists and CDS DSP staff. 

  • Monitors East Bay Innovations CDS program to ensure that services are consistent with each consumer’s ISP, as well as with CDS values and philosophy and East Bay Innovations CDS program design.

  • Monitors and assists the recruitment and interview process to select qualified candidates for CDS direct service positions.

  • Ensures the development and maintenance of training and support strategies to maximize consumer independence and/or participation in daily activities of their choosing.

  • Develops and maintains initial and ongoing staff training curricula (including lifting and transfer training and behavioral support training).

  • Ensures that consumer records have proper documentation and organization and that all reports are completed on time.

  • Monitors consumer purchase of service authorizations, performs monthly billing to the regional center, and ensures that support plans are updated and submitted to case managers on time.

  • Acts as liaison between East Bay Innovations and consumer’s circle of support, regional center and partnering agencies.

  • Develops strategies and identifies resources to support staff to continuously provide services that meet the needs of each consumer.

  • Ensures that all service and administrative duties are performed in a timely manner by CDS staff.

  • Assist with development of the program budget as assigned by the Executive Director.

  • Provides direct support services to the person served, and/or services to support a consumer’s Individual Support Plan as needed.

  • Be available on an emergency basis.

  • Other duties and admin support as assigned.
