Description

We are seeking a Staff Accountant based in Odessa, Texas. The role is focused on providing general accounting support, preparing journal entries, and maintaining adequate accounting records. This position will work closely with the Accounting Manager and other team members to ensure the smooth operation of the accounting department.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system

• Coordinate complex accounting projects and initiatives with the Accounting and Finance team and other departments

• Analyze complex financial information and make recommendations

• Ensure general ledger entries are completed correctly and in a timely manner

• Perform variance analysis and prepare account reconciliations

• Recommend new accounting processes and procedures by analyzing current procedures

• Document and monitor internal controls to maintain the integrity of data

• Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data

• Mentor and assist accountants, accounts payable and account receivable staff

• Maintain the integrity of the system used to generate all statements, payments, accruals, and expenses

• Support month-end and year-end processes to ensure completion in a timely manner

• Assist heavily with yearly audits.

Skills:

• Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience with Bank Reconciliations and General Ledger management

• Knowledge of Journal Entries and Month End Close procedures

• Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP software

Requirements • Proven experience as a Staff Accountant in the Stone/Glass/Concrete Manufacturing industry

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Strong understanding of Bank Reconciliations

• Solid knowledge of General Ledger management

• Experience in preparing Journal Entries

• Capability in handling Month End Close procedures

• Familiarity with NetSuite accounting software

• Proficiency in Oracle financial software

• Experience in using QuickBooks for accounting tasks

• Expertise in SAP for financial management
