Weber Human Services PEER Support Specialist - Addiction & Recovery in Ogden, Utah
Offer a positive example of a person with lived experience who has been successful at managing their own recovery from substance use disorders and/or mental health.
20 hours of the position includes working directly with the medical team with clients receiving medication assisted treatment (MAT).
Offer a positive, supportive relationship that helps promote hope, choice, wellness, and recovery for clients.
Provide assistance in identifying and linking clients to community-based services and supports.
Provide peer support individual services, peer support groups, and collaboration with peer supports in the community.
Assist with recovery education and recovery capital.
Be a team member of the clinical team in Addiction & Recovery Services.
Complete documentation based on agency standards.
GED or high school diploma, current non-restrictive Utah driver’s license, lived experience in public mental health & substance use disorder agencies, preferred certification as a Certified Peer Support Specialist in Utah or must become certified within 90 days of hire, pass a criminal history background check, basic computer skills, and preferred working knowledge of Weber County resources.
Become Certified in Smart Recovery within first 6 months of hire.
