Description:

This senior level position designs and implements computer and information networks, under limited supervision, to support the planning, installation, operation, and maintenance of computer and information networks. This position will focus on network based technologies.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Leads the installation and configuration of company LANs, SD WANS, Clouds (Azure/AWS), and wireless networks

• Leads the coordination of network operations, cloud connectivity, maintenance, repairs, or upgrades

• Diagnoses and fixes hardware and software problems, using established procedures

• Manage plans and provide redundant inter-building fiber and copper connectivity as needed.

• Consults with management and makes recommendations for new technologies based on business requirements

• Maintains documentation of installations, configurations, maintenance procedures, etc.

• Provides innovative and practical solutions to improve performance, expand services, serve new purposes, or improve workflows

• Performs other duties as assigned

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Job Specific Skills:

• Advanced knowledge of LAN/WAN systems, Cloud providers, networks, SDWAN and applications

• Knowledge of SDWAN technology and solutions

• Advanced ability to correctly identify problems, analyze information, develop, and evaluate options, and implement solutions

• Knowledge of project management methodologies

• Ability to work with vendors on hardware replacements

• Advanced understanding of the implications of new information for both current and future problem solving and decision making

• Experience with the following or similar technologies: : Cisco switch / router config, Absolute VPN, Cisco Wireless products, Efficient IP, Palo Alto firewalls, Meraki, SolarWinds Orion, Splunk.

Education:

• Minimum: High school diploma or GED

• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree - from accredited university - IT, MIS, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field

Experience:

• Minimum: 5-8 years related work experience

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

• Cisco Certifications
