Role Overview:
This position is responsible for forecasting sales by product line and market research for new product lines. The candidate will need strong excel skills and ability to consolidate multiple forecasts from different departments. The position requires an interest in market research or statistics.
Reporting Relationships:
Will report to New Business Development Analyst
No direct reports initially
Responsibilities:
Work with Sales and Marketing to collect and analyze data to better identify market potential and factors influencing product demand
Gather information on competitors and conduct analysis on their impact in the market
Evaluate new market opportunities to help develop areas for new business development initiatives
Track and forecast trends in sales and marketing and analyze in detail the data collection to provide reports and results to management
Work with Finance and Manufacturing to develop sales forecasting models for demand planning through analysis of market drivers
Devise and assess procedures and methods for data collection to make the process more efficient
Ability to work independently
Develop and improve skill sets through continuing education and industry conferences
Willingness to contact customers by phone or survey to attain market data
Ability to work with large data sets and summarize the results
Qualifications
BS degree in Marketing or Statistics
Knowledge of statistical analytics packages, databases, and MS Office
Good oral and written communication skills
Strong analytical and critical thinker
Problem solver with the ability to make decisions independently and without fear
