Description Dietitian - Providence St Peter Hospital-Olympia(HR) SCHEDULE: 0.6 FTE, Day Shift, 8 hr shift, M-F availability with rotating weekends every 4-6 weeks. The Clinical Dietitian is responsible for the nutritional care of patients, nutrition education, and promotion of nutrition services within the hospital. The Dietitian collaborates with members of the health care team to provide appropriate medical nutrition therapy to inpatients. The Clinical Dietitian evaluates nutrition status, assesses nutritional requirements according to age and disease specific needs of patients based on policies. Develops and implements the nutrition care plan across all phases of the continuum of care. Monitors the effectiveness and outcomes of the medical nutrition therapy intervention(s). Provides nutrition education to patient and family members on appropriate food selections to accomplish nutrition related goals. May precept and mentor dietetic interns/students. Actively assesses, evaluates and maintains professional development and competency related to the competencies outlined in the position description. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or Food and Nutrition Science from an accredited school or Advanced degree in Nutrition, Dietetics or Food and Nutrition Science from an accredited school Within 6 months (180 days) of hire: Washington Dietitian Certification or Within 6 months (180 days) of hire: Washington Nutritionist Certification Upon hire: National CDR Registered Dietitian - Commission on Dietetic Registration Preferred Qualifications: 1 year experience in acute care 3 months experience in medical charting in acute care or long-term care; schooling may be applied as clinical experience Why Join Providence?
