Job Corps has trained and educated over two million individuals since 1964.Oneonta Job Corps offers training in the Medical Trades: Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, and Medical Administrative Assistant. Auto Trades: Auto Body Collision and Repair, Auto Mechanics, Auto Technology. Construction Trades: Tile Setting, Cement Mason, and Electrical. Advanced Trades: Overhead Line Electrical, Rural Underground Distribution, SMART Meter, and Drone Piloting. Position Available: Independent Living Supervisor - Prime Shift  We are seeking a full-time Independent Living Dorm Supervisor who is reliable, compassionate, has an honorable work ethic, and loves to work with youth! This position requires you to work the Prime Shift: Monday through Friday 3:00pm-12:00am Major Responsibilities and Duties:Provide supervision, training, assessments, and leadership for assigned staffScreen, Interview, and select candidates for hire Participate in Student Behavior Management PanelsComplete all documentation requirements for center information systems and foldersOrder supplies and equipment as neededCoordinate and collaborate with Recreation and other Staff to provide ongoing student eventsMeet with Counselors, Instructors, and Student Human Resource Officers to discuss student performance and progressPlan, organize, and control the use of overtime and on-call staff to ensure compliance with center and ETR policies and procedures Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Employees will perform other related duties as needed to meet the ongoing needs of the organization. Skills/Competencies: Basic understanding of management practices; proven ability to lead and support a teamWorking knowledge of behavior management techniquesStrong Customer Service SkillsKnowledge and understanding of the needs of disadvantaged youthProven problem-solving and decision-making skillsExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenAbility to meet frequent deadlines and handle stressful, hectic situations without loss of efficiency and composureProficient in the use of computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. Educational Requirements: Bachelor's Degree required. One year of experience working with youth and in a supervisory capacity.
