Allied Mechanical Quality Inspector - Machined Parts in Ontario, California

JOB SUMMARY

This position inspects machined parts or assemblies to drawing or specification using visual and/or precision mechanical techniques and tools, including indicators and micrometers. Performs advanced surface plate set-ups, records and reports inspection findings. Reads blueprints or engineering specifications to obtain product information such as specified material, surface finish, and dimensions. Compiles data packages and completes FAI packages in accordance with customer specifications. Responsible for writing NCRs.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 3 years' mechanical inspection experience. Familiarity with First Article paperwork. Knowledge of geometrical dimensioning and tolerance in accordance with ANSI Y14.5. Experience working in an ISO/aerospace environment a plus. Ability to read and interpret information from prints, factory orders, routings and other internal documentation in hard copy or electronic formats. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision to meet deadlines. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Must be willing and able to work daily overtime (possbily some Saturdays). Must work with safety as the highest priority.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Shop floor environment with noise (under 80 db), dirt, oil and grease. Position requires individual to see, hear, walk, climb, bend, stoop, kneel, reach and grasp.

Walking surfaces may be slippery and slip-resistant shoes are required. Occasional exposure to air-borne oil/coolant mist and hazardous chemicals.
