Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Water Distribution Production Engineer at their Sabine River Operations site located in Orange, TX .
The Water Distribution Production Engineer role serves as a technical resource for the Energy, & Environmental (EEO) Operations team by applying technical skills to continuously identify improvement opportunities, optimization and increased reliability.
The intent of this role is to provide a technical resource to work with personnel from Environmental Operations and the various Water Distribution users and producers.
Also, you will complete each of the following tasks:
Understand and become a subject matter expert for all Water Distribution assets, controls, and operating conditions.
Ensure process control and operating conditions EEO Utilities distribution are optimized to most effectively and reliably provide the users
Provide technical assistance for the Water Distribution assets to stakeholders
Works closely with the operations team leveraging their problem solving skills and technical expertise.
Elevates and appropriately applies knowledge of the technology referencing historical data and conferring with Technology Center or other subject matter experts (SMEs).
Partners with experts to perform advanced troubleshooting and improve and document operating discipline.
Understands why specific procedure steps and precautions are needed and keeps a strong field presence to reinforce the importance.
Conducts daily review of logbook to better understand the plant operation and stay engaged with daily activities.
Responds urgently to plant issues and emergencies.
Acts as a unit technical expert during unplanned events and drives implementation of effective corrective and preventative actions.
Ensures compliance with plant operating permits. Understands site integration and provides input to optimize the overall system.
Network with other engineers onsite and within the global businesses to leverage knowledge on plant and pipeline operations.
Coordinate with and ensure partner plants and key stakeholders are adequately informed of all pipeline work and projects that will affect them.
Serve as Process Knowledgeable Person on Plant Assessment Team including ensuring compliance for all GMISS inspections, driving alignment of GMISS and IMP inspection work, and managing the implementation of recommendations.
Participate and/or lead HAZOP reviews, as necessary.
Conduct Root Cause Investigations on unplanned events according to the RCI Trigger Criteria
Work to ensure operating procedures and pipeline outage job plans are valid and up to date.
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
Essential functions of this position may require, among other things, that the employee use particular types of equipment -- such as on-site safety equipment that has specific weight limitations whereby the individual’s own weight, plus the weight of tools and other items and materials, must not exceed a certain threshold. (For example, some types of safety equipment may be rated for a maximum weight limit of 300 pounds total.) 2-years or more of manufacturing, engineering, or relevant experience preferred.
