Position Overview:

Siemens Mobility is GROWING in Orlando, FL! We are seeking an experienced Material Manager to join our Mobility Customer Service – Brightline East Project Team. The Material Manager is responsible for all material & logistics-related tasks in the maintenance project, with the aim of optimizing the material and logistics costs and ensuring the required quality and material availability for the customer. You will be responsible for detailing and implementing the logistics concept and coordinating it with the project team. The ideal candidate will be well-organized and highly motivated as this role will be responsible for managing supply chain activities including monitoring of order management for the project, monitoring of operational and delivery processes with the objective of sustainable customer satisfaction by optimized processes and resource planning.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Ensure safe working environment,

  • Identify and assist in developing training materials required for customer material control and Siemens materials,

  • Work with systems integrations teams (Siemens & Brightline respectively) to ensure successful process and documentation of all material transactions,

  • Coordinate with CS Material Planner and Central Warehouse for continued flow of standard fulfillment, emergency material needs and other material/logistics requirements,

  • Manage on time receipts of material to the stores, transfers, drop ships and standard fulfillment,

  • Manage system stocking levels to ensure required material is on hand when needed at the depots and monitor inventory cycle count activities at the depots,

  • Monitor inter-company material transit and work with Strategic and Operational Procurement to achieve required service parameters from vendors,

  • Report internal performance metrics to Project and CS management; report out to Customer the performance metrics as related to customer’s CTQs,

  • Manage performance metrics for stores teams, including but not limited to impact of material availability to fleet availability (LHFM, critical to operation material shortages, etc.),

  • Align material teams’ objectives with customer and business level deliverables (availability, reliability, cycle time and other CTQs to be defined by business and customer),

  • Champion an environment of continual improvement with material and supply chain teams and across impacted functions via Workshop events, process standardization, process efficiency and performance measurements,

  • Assist Product Management, Reliability and Purchasing teams by leading life cycle cost initiatives at the field level (second source opportunities, localization, internal material repair/rebuild opportunities),

  • Manage and optimize transportation cost drivers with field sites through standard decision tree, logistics analysis and standard operating procedures,

  • Familiarity with 49CFR DOT Hazardous Material transportation requirements.

To thrive in this role, you have:

  • High School Diploma / GED.

  • 5+ years of experience in material management or logistics coordination with material management responsibilities.

  • ERP and/or MRP systems as well as additional planning software.

  • Strong experience in various MS Office applications (Excel, Access, PPT, Word, etc.).

  • Ability to travel: Approximately 5%.

  • Excellently demonstrated verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Setting you apart from others would be a bachelor’s degree in SCM with 5+ of materials management experience within the railway industry.Experience in managing conflicting metrics such as transportation cost and material availability and familiarity with LEAN and Six Sigma concepts would be a plus.

The base salary range for this position in Orlando, FL is $88,000 - $119.100. The actual salary/wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
