Lockheed Martin Operations Research Analyst Intern / Orlando, FL in Orlando, Florida

Description: Lockheed Martin is seeking a Strategic Operations Research Analyst intern to join a dynamic, high-performing team. The selected candidate will use systematic, science-based techniques, analytical methods, simulation, and critical thinking to inform and improve decision-making processes. This position will require frequent collaboration with team members and engineers in other disciplines. As part of the Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control Operations Analysis team, this candidate will participate in analysis to support requirements definitions, concept of operations (CONOPS) evaluation, and operational effectiveness studies to help shape and influence future capabilities of the warfighter. These impactful studies quantify the effects of payloads, weapons and tactics on survivability and mission effectiveness.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Participating in analysis and study plans based on critical questions/problem statements

• Applying engineering-based techniques, problem-solving methods, and critical thinking

• Researching and learning military systems, military operations, and military tactics

• Simulation, Modeling and Analysis (MS&A) of military systems and scenarios in digital environments

• Analyzing simulation results using data analytics to help draw meaningful conclusions

• Participating in trade studies and performing statistical analysis

• Participating in research efforts and learning analytical techniques with research methodologies.

• Applying decision analysis methods to evaluate current and future programs

Basic Qualifications:

• Eligible for a DoD secret clearance

• Scripting and data processing experience (MATLAB, Python, or similar)

• Problem solving skills with an eagerness to learn

• Currently enrolled in a STEM degree from an accredited college/university

• This position also requires an enhanced security review in accordance with government contract requirements and it is a condition of employment that individuals hired into positions requiring program clearance obtain and maintain such clearance within sufficient time to allow Lockheed Martin to meet its business needs.

Desired Skills:

• Active DoD secret clearance

• Classroom or work experience in computer-based analytical tools, modeling, simulation, or software development experience

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Clearance Level: Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years

Ability to Work Remotely: Full-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work remotely full time at a location other than a Lockheed Martin designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a Lockheed Martin office for periodic meetings.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $53,664 - $61,672. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
