NBC Universal Supervisor, Show Systems – Universal Epic Universe in Orlando, Florida

Universal Orlando Resort believes in-person collaboration is key to our success. Many of our Team Members work in a hybrid capacity, contributing from the workplace a minimum of three days per week. JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for managing the preventative and corrective maintenance performed on all audio, video, film and laser equipment throughout the resort. Manages all labor resources within the Show Systems department and ensures safe work practices while conducting maintenance tasks.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for and directs best practices for performing preventative and corrective maintenance on all audio, video, film, and laser equipment resort wide. Updates various processes for the department, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness of the preventative maintenance system, troubleshooting processes, and corrective maintenance tasks.

  • Manages the planning and scheduling process of the shift in accordance with departmental policies. Supports the Ride Reliability Team and demonstrates the ability to develop and execute action plans to prevent the recurrence of downtimes as they pertain to audio, video, film and laser equipment.

  • Conduct employee staff meetings and provide coaching, mentoring and feedback to team members. Administer counseling, performance evaluations and performance recognition to team members.

  • Ensure safety and equipment training is complete. Develop safety plans and processes for staff to follow.

  • Ensure the accuracy of labor reporting, time and attendance, Maximo reporting, and the preventative maintenance system.

  • Develop solutions on replacing deficient and obsolete equipment. Contact vendors and equipment manufactures for products and solutions. Monitor industry trends and forecast failures.

  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

SCOPE: Responsible for the maintenance, repair, replacement and upkeep of all audio/video equipment throughout the resort.

EDUCATION: High school degree or GED: Required. Technical school: Required – Electronics or Electrical Technology, Audio Engineering. Associate’s degree (AA): Preferred – Electronics or Electrical Technology, Sound Engineering Bachelor’s degree: Preferred – Electronics Technology or Sound/Audio Engineering

EXPERIENCE: 5 to 10 years of experience in Audio/Video Maintenance Required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
