University of Maine System Licensed Therapist in Orono, Maine
The primary responsibilities of this position are to: provide mental health and substance use disorder counseling and crisis services to students and to serve as a resource for the campus community by providing training, consultation, and prevention services. Many students have significant mental health, substance use, developmental and social and academic problems and need these services to ensure success and retention, and the safety and well-being of students and the community. Typical hiring range for the 10 month position is $52,173 and the 11 month position is $57,391 commensurate with qualifications and experience.
The Licensed Therapist has an option for a 10 or 11 month position. Therapists at the Counseling Center do not bill for services and have caseload requirements, not productivity requirements. The University provides 13 paid holidays, up to 20 days of vacation time, and up to 20 days of sick time during your first fiscal year. The University provides a 10% retirement contribution as long as the employee contributes 4%.

Qualifications:
Required:
Typically has the education associated with a Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling and three years of clinical work experience beyond independent licensure.
Applicants must be licensed or eligible to pursue a license in the State of Maine as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor.
Successful candidates must have experience delivering mental health and substance use disorder services and have demonstrated skill and ability in the delivery of effective outreach and educational programs.
Demonstrated dedication, sensitivity and competence in understanding working with a diverse population.
Demonstrated history of effective collaboration as a member of a team of professionals and must show interest and the ability to be cooperative in working with other Counseling Center staff to provide a balance of skills as needed by the Center at any particular time.
Excellent clinical and interpersonal skills.
