Eaton Corporation Senior Product Specialist/Engineer in Ottawa, Ontario

Eaton’s ES AMER PCS division is currently seeking a Senior Product Specialist/Engineer. This position can be based at any of the following Eaton locations: Edmonton, AB, Calgary, AB, Airdrie, AB, Burlington, ON, Delta, ON, Mississauga, ON or Ottawa, ON and offers a hybrid working schedule.

What you’ll do:

The Senior Product Specialist/Engineer provides support to Eaton product management, sales staff, channel partners and customers in pre-sales through post-sales capacity. The individual has responsibility for technical application support and marketing of Low Voltage Power Circuit Breakers and Medium Voltage Circuit Breakers to the internal and external customer base in Canada. This includes the application of assigned product lines for OEM customers and support of aftermarket inquiries, quotations, and pricing strategies. The individual is responsible for researching and developing ideas and processes for new marketing initiatives and coordinating new product development with the US to reduce integration cycle time and realize faster return on investment in the Canadian market.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assist customers with application of products – during both presales and post sales activities including responding to sales and customer technical requests, interpreting customer product specifications, and drawing requirements.

  • Engage targeted end-users to drive specification of Eaton components, thus creating demand for Eaton products across multiple OEMs.

  • Provide support of Eaton components in customer switchgear, switchboard and custom panel platform consultations, including understanding test standards and product application to address customer technical problems and quality issues.

  • Recommends technical content for value proposition creation and value selling tools through intimate knowledge of OEM customers, markets segments served and associated industry trends.

  • Lead continuous improvement activities, including project management initiatives, to improve the deployment of marketing tools, deploy standardized processes and strategy for new/existing product development/designs.

  • Drive continual price realization, while achieving market share and profitability objectives for the product line.

  • Creating and maintaining standard pricing tools and associated discount schedules for assigned products within the Eaton Pricing System.

Qualifications:

Basic (required) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or post-secondary diploma in electrical or mechanical engineering from an accredited institution

  • Technical Professional Designation of P. Eng. or CET, or C. Tech

  • Three (3) years' experience with electrical assemblies, electrical distribution and switchgear components with a focus on Low and Medium Voltage Power Circuit Breakers

  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship now and in the future

  • Must currently reside within an 80km radius of the posted working locations to be considered (Edmonton, AB, Calgary, AB, Airdrie, AB, Burlington, ON, Delta, ON, Mississauga, ON or Ottawa, ON)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Five years of experience working with LV/MV Power Breakers

  • Five years of experience working in a marketing role within the electrical sector

  • Working knowledge with: Oracle MRP, Bid Manager, Global Vista, Product Data Hub, Enovia, Inventor

  • Bilingual in French (CDN) and English is an asset
