Job Summary
Assist the Director of Quality Assurance in managing our Quality Assurance & Biosecurity Programs for the assigned facility.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Perform internal audits of Quality Assurance, HACCP and Biosecurity Programs and work with plant personnel on corrective action.
- Accompany customers on Quality Assurance and Feed Safety audits at the plant.
- Assist the Director of Quality Assurance with the management of the company's antioxidant application program.
- Assist with the company's customer complaint program, working with the plant on corrective action and providing feedback to Sales for resolving complaints with customers.
- Assist with the management of the company's Mock Recall Program and annual supplier Feed Safety Certifications.
- Train plant management and personnel in Biosecurity, HACCP and GMP programs.
- Contribute product development ideas and work on product development teams as appropriate.
- Provide support to the company's two central analytical laboratories.
- Work in other activities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Quality Management, Meat Science or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of industry experience in a quality-related role.
Preferred Qualifications
- HACCP certification preferred.
- Experience with plant Quality Systems and HACCP/GMP Plan auditing is desirable.
- Experience in the Pet Food Industry and with animal byproducts is desirable.
- Excellent math skills, including statistical analysis.
- Highly organized, self-motivated with superior time management skills.
- Exceptional communication skills both written and oral.
- Work well with all levels of the corporation.
