Job Description

A Lead (LV) Project Engineer is responsible for overseeing the planning, design, and execution of low voltage electrical projects. These projects typically include systems such as security, communications, and building automation. The Lead LV Project Engineer ensures that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the overall delivery of HVDC Control & Protection System from basic design to site system commissioning.This includes the following actives:

  • Define and maintain scope for the LV Secondary Delivery Project Plan.

  • Define and maintain the detailed Project Smartsheet derived from P6 plan.

  • Define and maintain the Control & Protection System Risk Register and escalade high risks to project team.

  • Review planned hours, Cost-To-Completion hours vs Budgeted hours.

  • Adhere to the GE HVDC operation rhythm.

  • Adhere to the Control & Protection System Engineering SIPOC and delivery processes.

  • Ensure resource plan in place, and request resources to valve engineering team leads.

  • Accountability on the On-Time-Delivery and say-do ratio KPIs for the project.

  • Lead cross-functional tasks and discussions.

  • Lead NCP, with action plan in place and accountability to close them.

  • Raise Change Request when required following a budget deviation or a change of scope.

  • Report monthly to the Head of Control & Protection System, the project progress, including achievements, budget status, risks review and resource plan, look ahead.

  • Represent Control & Protection System during the customer meeting and with GE partners.

  • Travel abroad to attend customer meeting, witness type testing in presence of customer and so one.

  • Actively share and learn good practices and lesson learning to implement in the project for better project execution.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Electronics/Electrical engineering or related field.

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in control and protection system design, Project Engineer and Project Management or equivalent

  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
