About This Role

Carrier is currently searching for a Director of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) for its Refrigeration segment (2019 revenue = $3.8B). The Director will be responsible for the key FP&A deliverables for the segment including long range and annual planning, periodic forecasting, and monthly and quarterly business review preparation. The Director will continually monitor and advise segment leadership and senior management on operating results and trends, ensuring performance to communicated commitments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Refrigeration business and finance leaders to develop quarterly, annual, and five-year plans and monitor progress against key financial objectives.

  • Provide analysis, critique, and explanation of monthly operating results and quarterly results.

  • Communicate recommendations to the Vice President of Finance and the President of Refrigeration. Present these recommendations monthly as part of the business review.

  • Partner with various Refrigeration and finance functions, including Operations, Supply Chain and CBS to review and report out on working capital progress across the segment.

  • Lead FP&A finance transformation globally, for the refrigeration segment, partnering with Refrigeration business unit FP&A groups, Carrier FP&A and HVAC organizations. Develop, form, and execute a high functioning organization in a cost effective manner with a focus on standardization, efficiency and analytics.

  • Provide clear reporting and analytics for Refrigeration segment costs and highlight areas of focus to drive cost efficiencies.

  • Support the divestiture of the Commercial Refrigeration (CCR) business unit in 2023, on budget for one time exit costs. Partner with CCR, HQ PMO and accounting groups to ensure proper accounting treatments. Develop new reporting for Refrigeration segment to reflect Newco remaining business unit views.

  • Support cost optimization processes across Refrigeration segment and provide clear reporting and analytics to ensure we are on track to our objectives and cost targets.

  • Lead the development of an effective FP&A organization and its members. Ensure timely and complete feedback provided to all associates, which will enable them to improve their overall performance and contribution to Carrier.

  • Be responsible for the performance of other tasks related to this position as they are assigned by cognizant management.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business Administration

  • 10+ years of industrial finance experience in progressively responsible finance roles

  • 5+ years of experience leading FP&A activities in a large, global industrial environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • An MBA is highly desirable

  • Having a familiarity and an understanding of Carrier’s planning and reporting process would be helpful

  • Showing demonstrated analytical abilities and skills in communicating with all levels of the organization is essential
