About this role

Carrier is looking for a high-potential candidate to join our Data team. Key tasks include overall responsibility for SAP MDG application and implementation. Propose most efficient business processes to meet or exceed business goals and objectives for business process. Responsible for benchmarking Master Data Governance with similar industries to propose scalable, lowest ownership and cost solutions. Act as the integration layer between business and technology teams to deliver a seamless solution. Other responsibilities include operational support of current applications, assisting IT management in the definition of IT strategic plans, and assessment and delivery of next generation business solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, deploying, and supporting software solutions primarily using the Master Data Governance.

The role will report to the Data & Integration CoE leader, and is a key position in a global organization, delivering value to the business and extended digital team while maintaining a clear view on the Master Data COE mission and what needs to get done. The individual represents the stakeholders and act autonomously to communicate the right vision of the product/s within their Pod while fostering strong relationships with stakeholders (customers / commercial / plant / internal sponsors). This position requires strong people skills and good understanding of the Master Data Governance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead implementation projects in accordance with Carrier IT’s methodologies and governance model and collaborate with other IT teams to ensure solution designs are well coordinated and aligned to the overall ERP enterprise architecture.

  • Conduct workshops to drive Key Design Decisions with clear recommendations and leading/best practices for MDG Finance objects.

  • Provide architecture recommendations, options, and pros/cons on potential options to MDG solution.

  • Executing processes and maintenance of various Master Data Management elements to ensure accurate data creation, transformation, and retention.

  • Setting the technical direction for the overall MDG solution architecture, define the component architecture, review detailed designs for accuracy and overall compliance to defined architecture across the complete data lifecycle.

  • Design and optimize End to End Master Data Governance process. Facilitating strategic decisions regarding Master Data policy, standards, and procedures.

  • Configure, Design, Build, Test and Deploy the core SAP MDG solution and ensure it works seamlessly.

  • Controlling solution development to ensure standards are being observed.

  • Leads teams during project initiation, planning, blue printing, realization, go live and hyper care phases of the implementation.

  • Establishes and maintains strong relationships with functional owners. Uses deep technical and process knowledge to drive engagement.

  • Manages external implementation partners, software vendors and service providers. Participates to develop request for proposals/quote, works to develop project proposals and statements of work.

  • Demonstrates broad project leadership, impacting significant technical direction; exerts influence outside of immediate team and drives change.

  • Manage ongoing operations to ensure solutions are performing as expected and meeting or exceeding expectations.

  • Experience in implementing MDG with large global enterprises across multiple legal entities in a highly complex systems and project environment.

  • Understanding of MDG/MDM processes and ability to map business requirements to standard SAP processes with minimal or no customization.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 10+ years of IT experience

  • 8+ years of experience in SAP Master Data Management & Data Governance.

  • 8+ years of experience on key SAP MDG concepts – Data Modelling, UI Modelling, Process Modelling, Governance Process, Mass Processing, Metadata Management and Data Quality

  • 8+years of experience in implementation and integration of MDG solutions for various data domains like Finance objects, Vendor/Customer and Material master.

  • 5+ years of experience in functional understanding of key processes creating or consuming data within all governed domains and the ability to determine the interrelationships and usage across the enterprise.

Preferred Qualifications

Other qualifications you may have that would be beneficial in this role include:

  • Bachelors’ or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.

  • Ability to think strategically while operating tactically to implement global data standards and global technical/process solutions.

  • Strong Knowledge of value Mapping, Process Model configurations, replication model configurations, Replication filters, country specific checks, Partner profiles, workflow configurations.

  • Overall knowledge of the SAP MDG, Central Finance and S/4 system and integration points from Data perspective is a plus.

  • Ability to think strategically while operating tactically to implement global data standards and global technical/process solutions.

  • Excellent analytical abilities, organization, and project/process management skills

  • Ability to convey vision through conversations / meetings / office tools

  • Demonstrate high degree of initiative and self-motivation

  • Comfortable meeting customers and partners

  • Strong interpersonal skills: the ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of individuals at all levels of the organization

  • Effective formal presentation and facilitation skills in a variety of settings

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Knowledge of an agile framework or method (i.e. Scrum, SAFe), an in-depth knowledge of traditional project management principles would be an advantage

  • Planning and problem solving with product management and delivery teams
