This is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity in the Pasadena, Texas area, at a company where effort is rewarded. To succeed in this role, you will need to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. This position will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. This position is ideal for someone with a complex understanding of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets.

Your responsibilities in this role

• Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls. Also ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP

• Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

• Partake in a variety of department-wide initiatives

• Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

• Manage intercompany reconciliation, billings, and transactions

• Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner

• Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested

• Maintain fixed asset ledgers, depreciation, and reconciliation

• Perform month end close, journal entries, with minimum supervision

• In-depth experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations

• Compose analyses for income statements and monthly balance sheets for management reporting

• Manage schedules for capital lease and monthly payments

• Regular maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries

  Requirements - Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines

• Skilled with ERP systems

• Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

• Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

• Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment

• Spreadsheet and database capabilities

• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills

• Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges

• 1+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

• Comprehensive knowledge of general ledger

• Foundational knowledge in month end closings

• Expertise in journal entries

• Strong familiarity with Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation

• Excellent attention to detail

• BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
