Robert Half Cost Controller in Pell City, Alabama


We are offering a unique opportunity for a Cost Controller in the automotive industry, located in PELL CITY, Alabama. You will be expected to provide financial analysis, verify costs with vendors and suppliers, estimate expenditures and recommend cost-saving measures to management. This role offers a long-term 6-month contract employment opportunity.


• Oversee the cost accounting process for accurate product costing

• Ensure SAP system integrity and accuracy of general ledger and cost accounting data

• Establish, maintain, and update effective standard costs and manufacturing cost allocations

• Support the preparation and execution of standard cost rolls

• Provide cost information for budget planning and forecasting

• Improve the cost accounting systems with timely and accurate data input and advanced procedures and controls

• Prepare weekly and monthly cost accounting reports including labor efficiency, productivity, production scrap, labor distribution, and lost time reports

• Perform various tasks for monthly financial closing process including inventory, manufacturing costs, PPV and other metrics to ensure timing and accuracy of standards and gross margins

• Provide cost estimates for potential new products and projects in conjunction with the finance and program management

• Provide cost support to cross-functional areas

• Review and evaluate cost trends and their impact

• Collaborate cross-functionally to support process improvement, standardization, and cost optimization

• Assist with inventory control and management and perform analysis of variances identified during inventory cycle counts and annual physical inventory.


• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance, and at least 5 years of work-related experience in finance and cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

• Comprehensive understanding of GAAP, and other cost accounting policies and procedures across multiple financial, and operational systems.

• Advanced SAP experience and SAP implementation with focus on CO-PA
