THE POSITION

Are you ready to start investing in your future? If so, The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is seeking a reliable team member to be a Procurement Specialist 1 within the Procurement and Supply section. If procurement of commodities and services , collaborating with other teams, and analyzing and negotiating contracts all sounds like a great day of work to you, this may be the perfect fit!

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Your role entails overseeing the procurement of commodities and services in accordance with the established Commonwealth procurement policies. Familiarity with the Department of General Services’ (DGS) statewide contracts, Invitation to Qualify (ITQ) contracts, and Agency-specific contracts is advantageous for this position.

Additionally, you will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and implementing competitive solicitations for non-contract commodities and services for the department, which includes Invitations for Bid. Your support and guidance will extend to state parks' field offices, regional offices, forest districts, and all central office program areas situated within the Rachel Carson building.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment

  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience performing technical purchasing or contract management work; and a bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, logistics, project, or operations management, or a related field ;or

  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
