THE POSITION

We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Tradesman Helpers to join our dynamic automotive team. In this role, you will provide essential support in the repair and preventative maintenance of a fleet of vehicles, construction equipment and hand tools. As a Tradesman Helper, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our shop operates smoothly and efficiently, contributing directly to the quality of service and repairs we provide. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to enter the automotive industry and develop their skills while working alongside seasoned professionals. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will independently conduct minor repairs and preventative maintenance tasks, including the replacement of hoses, wires, light bulbs, lenses, filters, and performing oil changes, lubrication, and tire mounting and repairs, while accurately documenting parts and time charges. You will support the repair of vehicles and equipment both inside and outside the garage and may need to travel to various stockpiles or worksites to assist a Diesel Mechanic with equipment repairs. Furthermore, you will carry out routine diagnostics using diagnostic tools and testing procedures, assist in more complex troubleshooting, perform minor repairs and maintenance on motorized hand tools such as chainsaws, compressors, jackhammers, tampers, hand mowers, trimmers, routers, patching machines, and heating kettles, and report any missing or damaged equipment as observed.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment

  • Work hours are 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

  • Seasonal shift during Winter and Spring operations

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Special Requirement:

  • This position requires an active non-commercial Pennsylvania Class C driver’s license or equivalent.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
