Your Role and Responsibilities

The Event Marketing Discipline is the science and art of face-to-face and virtual networking situations while creating and delivering value to satisfy the needs of a target audience. It includes developing strategic plans, recommendations, and design as well as tactical implementation and measurement tailored for an identified market.

The discipline supports and promotes appropriate offerings while bringing together decision makers and industry leaders in an experiential environment.

EVENT MANAGERS manage global event process execution to ensure event compliance and audit ready status at all times. This open role will be supporting cross APAC event marketing.

Responsibilities include:

  • Deep knowledge of all event process legal and financial controls/requirements

  • Deep knowledge of event tools

  • Execution of virtual events

  • Internal event communications

  • Mastering in budgeting and procurement tools and process

  • Management of pre and post emails for audience generation, event amplification and nurture

  • Tracking and Analysis of event performance

  • Ensuring all artifacts for compliance are documented and archived according to IBM Global Event Process

  • Partnership with event leaders and key stakeholders to ensure event performance and ROI

  • Legal and finance controls include, but are not limited to:

  • Event Marketing Tool documentation

  • Procurement and other financial documentation

  • Contracts and execution documents with IBM vendors

  • Logo Licenses

  • Corporate compliance requirement

  • GDPR

  • Attendee response uploads

  • Event Debriefs

The Event Manager is accountable to drive the outcomes of Global Event Process compliance and event documentation accuracy, while working with event leaders and key stakeholders to maximize event efficiency and outcomes.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Minimum of 3 years of event execution experience in business technology setting

  • Demonstrated event/project management success experience

  • A proven ability to work with technical information and deliver with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a high performing, very collaborative team.

  • Strong project management skills with a commitment to be highly organized and determination to meet deadlines.

  • Able to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment and execute effectively against multiple projects and deadlines and demonstrate an ability to take initiative, anticipate needs and exercise independent and sound judgment.
