CAE USA INC Group Leader, Technical Services in Petawawa, Canada

Role and Responsibilities

In this role, the Group Leader Technical Services will be responsible to lead the maintenance team responsible for the training equipment preventive and corrective maintenance at customer site. The incumbent will be responsible to meet “Performance Based Accountability” Key Performance Indicators (KPI) that are directly related to CAE revenues and profits for this contract.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance to achieve required availability and reliability KPI on flight training devices and other training equipment/facilities.

  • Supervise a dynamic team of technical staff that must meet the set KPIs.

  • Create work schedules, ensuring that an adequate roster is available at all times to cover contracted training availability window.

  • Provide staff guidance and leadership to ensure that equipment remains at peak performance to support internal and external customers.

  • Identify and track recurring and potential system problems and confer with technical experts and colleagues to formulate plans to solve problems.

  • Recommend and develop new procedures for testing, maintenance and repair.

  • Ensure that all technical information in the organization is disseminated to subordinates.

  • Liaise with co-workers to share new ideas and lessons learned.

  • Assist in recruiting, hiring and developing staff to help them achieve their objectives.

  • Prepare and do performance reviews.

    Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or college degree in job-related field.

  • Minimum of 8 to 12 years of relevant experience.

  • Thorough understanding of aircraft terminology or simulation devices.

  • Able to interpret schematics and other technical documents pertaining to simulators and aviation.

  • Superior troubleshooting skills and in-depth knowledge of operating electronic testing equipment and advanced software diagnostic utilities.

  • Fluency in English
