Job Title: Manufacturing Engineering Degree Apprenticeship (Level 6)

Location: Peterlee, County Durham

Salary: First year apprentices will start on an annual salary of £13,725.31 (this will increase each year, aligned to the academic calendar, rising to £34,000 upwards on completion of the degree apprenticeship

Our Manufacturing Engineering Department are recruiting for an Advanced Level Apprentice to join their team. The successful candidate will receive an apprentice salary and benefits whilst studying on day release for a Manufacturing Engineering degree at Sunderland University at no cost to them.

A full rotational plan will deliver extensive work-based learning tailored to the role and the academic modules required to achieve this degree level apprenticeship. The apprenticeship will last for four years and at the end it is hoped that a position will be offered in the Manufacturing Engineering Department.

Full training and support including day release to university will be included.

This position is suitable to candidates who have completed A' levels or equivalent and looking to study an engineering degree from this September.

Background / Experience required:

  • 5 GCSE’s grades A – C or grade 5 and higher including Maths, English Language and a Science.

Plus either

  • Level 3 Diploma in Engineering or Extended Diploma.

Or

  • 2 A’ levels preferably Maths and a Science or Engineering related subject.

  • HNC in an Engineering subject or Experience working in a manufacturing engineering environment would be desired but is not essential.

Desired skills and personal qualities:

  • Good level of computer literacy

  • Demonstrate a positive attitude

  • Good communication skills

  • Committed to personal development and learning

  • Able to adapt well to change
