Responsibilities

Noblis MSD’s mission is to support the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and, Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWCPD) and their missions to enable research, development, test and evaluation, acquisition, engineering, systems integration, in-service and fleet engineering with cybersecurity, comprehensive logistics, and life-cycle savings. We are looking to hire an experienced Configuration Manager to provide support to various ship programs for the US Navy. The candidate will be integrated with a government team providing support for Navy ship control system and ship sensor data software deliveries.

Responsible for overseeing the configuration, deployment, and release processes of software applications and systems to ensure smooth and efficient delivery to production environments. They utilize their expertise in configuration management tools, release pipelines, and change management practices to maintain consistency, reliability, and integrity across development, testing, and production environments. Typical responsibilities include defining and implementing configuration management policies and procedures to manage software versions, dependencies, and configurations, orchestrating and automating the release process through CI/CD pipelines, and coordinating release schedules and activities with cross-functional teams to minimize downtime and disruptions. Configuration and release management roles also involve monitoring release metrics and performance indicators to identify bottlenecks, optimize processes, and improve release efficiency. Additionally, professionals may collaborate with stakeholders to assess risks, plan for contingencies, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Their expertise in areas such as version control systems, deployment automation, change control processes, and release validation enables organizations to deliver high-quality software releases on time and within budget, while maintaining stability and reliability of production environments.

Candidates will have the opportunity to work a hybrid work schedule but should be local to the Philadelphia area to come in as needed.

Principal Duties/Responsibilities

  • Become familiar with the Navy’s System Engineering Process (SEP) in support of software deliveries.

  • Participate in the Peer Review process for software configuration changes.

  • Prepare test procedures and assemble shipboard test binders.

  • Coordinate with Team Members in completing the software Delivery Letter process.

  • Burn/prepare software delivery and/or test device discs

  • Coordinate media checkout and shipping of software.

  • Coordinate and work with Project Leads for software delivery plans and schedules.

  • Develop and communicate task lists and estimated completion dates for SEP requirements.

  • Prepare audit paperwork and conduct audits (i.e. Delivery Certification Audits, Ready for Test Audits, Redelivery Audits).

  • Prepare, maintain, and manage Program Requirements

  • Support data call requests.

  • Maintain inventory and status of artifacts associated with ship software deliveries such as delivery media, local archive of deliverables, delivery letters, audit material.

  • Assist Project Managers and Branch Heads in program review preparations.

  • Maintain configuration management for technical documents within the branch.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and 3 years work experience OR equivalent work experience work experience; configuration Management experience is required.

Must either have an active DoD Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain a secret upon position acceptance.

Strong MS Office skills.

Salary at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is provided within the posting and are based on full time status. Part time staff receive a prorated salary based on regularly scheduled hours. The estimated minimum and maximum displayed represents the broadest range for this position (inclusive of high geographic and high clearance requirements), and is just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package for employees.

USD $61,600.00 - USD $107,800.00 /Yr.
