Directly support the Global Chair and CEO to deliver communications that inspire, engage and mobilize the organization. Contribute to a global messaging platform that helps EY articulate a connected, impactful corporate narrative across internal and external channels, with an emphasis on delivery of the message through the Chair and CEO. Help set the tone for EY as a key communications leader.

Essential Functions of the Job

  • Design, develop and execute a communications strategy for EY’s Global Chair and CEO that inspires, engages and mobilizes EY’s senior leadership and 400,000 people, potential recruits, alumni, and external audiences.

  • Develop an integrated communications strategy, bridging internal and external communications, in close collaboration with the Global Head of Strategic Communications, Director of Media Relations and Leadership Communications.

  • Bring innovative and creative thinking, setting the tone for the rest of the organization that aligns with the EY Global All in narrative.

  • Work with Office of the Chair team and stakeholders across the Global network to coordinate Chair and CEO internal public appearances (Town Halls, partner meetings, webcasts).

  • Prepare strategic messaging, briefing materials and ensure exceptional quality of delivery across execution.

  • Provide strong leadership and support to senior leadership to deliver consistent and effective messaging that will drive a consistent narrative around the All in strategy.

  • Drive a variety of projects for the Chair and CEO in direct liaison with senior leadership.

  • Work closely with senior leadership in crisis management situations.

  • Help set the direction for senior BMC leaders across service lines, Areas and functions to ensure consistent and aligned communications, contributing to developing a best-in-class function.

Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support to the Chair and CEO in a variety of projects, with the confidence to advise and challenge the most senior person in the organization.

  • Drive influence across all levels of the business in order to execute on the Chair and CEO agenda and priorities, including being responsible for interfacing with other members of the Global Executive.

  • Establish a strong internal network and influence internal decision-making.

Supervision Responsibilities:

  • This position is responsible for execution, has one direct report and partners across a wide group of resources throughout the organization for input and assistance.

  • Assign work to any part of the business, as appropriate. Review and challenge that work product on behalf of the Chair and CEO.

  • Project-based supervision of BMC team members.

  • Contribute to the development of talent in the BMC function by providing ongoing feedback, performance reviews and stretch experiences as required.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements

  • 10-15 years of experience

  • External or internal communications at senior levels, including navigating robust processes and protocols to ensure quality and risk management.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills – able to effectively manage and influence senior leaders, as well as a broad range of internal and client-facing professionals.

  • Excellent writing and content development skills.

  • Strong leadership skills.

  • Sound judgement – critical thinking and ability to navigate ambiguity.

  • Agile and innovative mindset, help drive change and challenge status quo.

  • Business acumen – 360° understanding of EY’s business and services, including global strategy, market competitive dynamics, financial performance metrics and value drivers.

  • Strong understanding of global business issues, current affairs, economics and politics.

  • An international outlook and an ability to work across geographies and cultures.

  • Work effectively in a complex matrix organization across many initiatives.

  • Strong team player that builds consensus, comfortable working collaboratively, virtually and independently.

What we offer

The compensation ranges below are provided in order to comply with United States pay transparency laws. Other geographies will follow their local salary guidelines, which may not be a direct conversion of published US salary ranges.

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $130,500 to $251,200. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $156,600 to $285,400. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
