Position Description :

The Department of Psychiatry has an exciting new opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner on the MEND (Mental Health Engagement Navigation and Delivery) service at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. The MEND team is a proactive consult service model that delivers mental health care to high risk patients in the hospital. In this role you will work with other APPs, a psychiatrist and a social worker to offer guidance to medical teams on management, interpersonal dynamics, and crisis de-escalation. Responsibilities will include triaging patients, consulting with primary services, and providing evidence-based psychotherapy, motivation to engage with treatment, and assistance overcoming barriers to care. This position requires a high level of independence but is well supported with collaborative practice and multi-disciplinary practice model. Excellent critical thinking, organizational, and communication skills, as well as strong medical/pharmacology/nursing knowledge are essential. In this role, there will also be a tremendous professional growth potential and the opportunity to participate in Penn Medicine’s tripartite mission of clinical care, research, and education.

Minimum Requirements :

• Master’s prepared Psych Nurse Practitioner

• Pennsylvania licensure as an ACNP or PA-C

• BLS required, ACLS preferred

• Experience in psychiatry

• Experience in working with multidisciplinary teams highly valued

Monday through Friday, 8-10 hour days
