Job Description/Essential Functions:

Horizon House, Inc. is a nationally recognized provider of services to adults with support needs due to developmental disabilities, behavioral health issues, and substance abuse. Horizon House is Pennsylvania's oldest psychiatric rehabilitation agency. Since 1952, we have been dedicated to helping people with mental illness, drug and alcohol addictions, developmental/intellectual disabilities, and homelessness to stabilize their lives and to help them live as independently as possible in the community. With over 100 locations throughout South and North Eastern Pennsylvania and the state of Delaware, Horizon House provides services to a diverse population focusing on individual strength and choice. We are seeking qualified candidates for the position of Quality Improvement Specialist. The position has responsibility for assisting in the development, communication, and compliance monitoring of Behavioral Health Services policies and procedures.

Additional responsibilities include the following: Validating information with administrative staff for outcomes management. Assisting in the development and staff education covering the privacy of, and access to consumer health information in compliance with federal and state laws and Horizon House's information privacy practices. Draft and prepare BHS policies and procedures. Conduct regular CBH quality of documentation audits. Conducts regular CBH compliance audits billing versus documentation. Ensure that BHS Policy and Procedure Manuals are consistent and in compliance with applicable State, County regulations.

Job Qualifications:

Successful candidates will the following: BA degree with one year experience. Proficient in computer applications (MS Office, Excel and forms application(s). Knowledge of statistics, data collection, analysis and data presentation. Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), preferred or any combination. Excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with accreditation and or state licensure review processes. Very good communication skills, both oral and written. Ability to work independently, detail oriented. Strong analytical skills. Scope: Requires sitting for long periods of time. Frequent talking and listening. Light lifting and/or carrying, not to exceed 25lbs.
