Position Summary: The Application Support Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day tasks and activities of the people and technologies that provide support for the application software that our user base is dependent on. This role leads the team responsible for troubleshooting incidents and fulfilling application specific service requests as well as analyzes the team’s overall effectiveness and provides individual coaching along with professional development advice to the members of the team.

The Application Support Supervisor also leverages various toolsets to create, distribute, present, and review reports and findings to individuals and management and in addition, helps with identifying opportunities to improve service delivery as it relates to supporting the applications assigned.

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Reviews the inputs and outputs of the employees on the team and the technology supporting the applications assigned.

  • Creates and reviews reports to identify trends and highlight training opportunities.

  • Assists teams in solving complex issues and requests, including hierarchical escalations.

  • Keeps teams and stakeholders updated on changes to existing processes and workflows.

  • Actively coaches employees on documented processes or procedures.

  • Creates and reviews statistical performance reports with assigned teams and technology owners.

  • Ensures direct reports are using downtime productively by improving their knowledge of the user environment or improving their technical skill level.

  • Identifies opportunities to improve service delivery of the applications assigned.

  • Onboards new team members and ensures they receive the tools and training needed to be successful.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.

Qualifications:

  • 4 years of experience with knowledge management methodologies and toolsets.

  • 4 years of experience writing SQL queries to retrieve and manipulate data.

  • Advanced level IT certification in a specialty area (Technical, Process, etc.).

  • Comprehension of ITSM frameworks in relation to service delivery.

  • Understanding of agile and traditional project management processes.

  • Demonstrated ability to coach employees and motivate high performing teams.

  • Foundation level certification in IT Service Management.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 4 years of experience with ITSM processes and toolsets.

  • 4 years of experience supporting enterprise level applications in a virtual support environment.

  • 2 years of experience with problem identification techniques.

  • 2 years of experience with creating and analyzing reports to support service delivery.
