Description:

A Calibration Engineer Technician is responsible for coordinating all Calibration and Preventive Maintenance activities for the product/site.

Key responsibilities/essential functions include:

  • Develop/maintain validated Standard Operating Procedures for calibration.

  • Perform unscheduled calibrations as needed to minimize equipment down time. Assist Manufacturing Engineers and TCOE Engineers in reviewing equipment found out of tolerance.

  • Analyze results and make recommendations regarding the need for corrective action or preventative action (CAPA).

  • Good fundamental understanding of and experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, control systems and temperature systems.

  • Knowledge of measurement science, mathematics, and electronics to calibrate measurement and test equipment dimensional, physical, mechanical, and environmental to ensure measurement accuracy.

  • Ability to conduct routine planned maintenance/calibration as detailed by the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

  • Adapting equipment standards and procedures to accomplish unique measurements.

  • Performing calibrations of manufacturing, testing, and measurement equipment.

  • Promoting an environment of continuous improvement and innovation in line with lean thinking and Maintenance best practice.

  • Ensure that all activities are carried out in accordance with the Good Manufacturing Practices requirements maintained by the company.

  • All employees are responsible for minimizing both the Environmental and Health & Safety effects of the work that they perform.

  • Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position.

  • Knowledge and understanding of verification, validation, acceptance activity, and electronic signature requirements (as applicable to the job) to ensure that product, equipment, tools, processes, software, and documentation meet requirements.

Quality Specific Goals:

  • Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position.

  • Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines

  • Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required.

  • Perform routine audits to ensure regulatory compliance.

  • Knowledge and understanding of production processes to ensure equipment conforms to specifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Three years working knowledge of metrology, calibration instruments and data-based computer applications.

  • Ability to write Equipment Calibration and Maintenance Assessments.

  • Ability to analyze data, determine root cause and make recommendations for CAPA.

  • Effective written and oral communication skills in local language.

  • Ability to work well with others without close supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two-year technical degree, OR 3-5 years' equivalent experience repairing, maintaining, and/or calibrating equipment

  • Ability to make decisions based on knowledge/judgment and implement decisions consistently.
