Administrative Assistant II Job Summary

Performs administrative assistant support work of moderate complexity.

Essential Functions

    • Planning orders, filling inventories, tracking ongoing orders; Keep records organized on information about supplies and experiment results.
    • Coordinate lab functions and orderliness, ensure continuous smooth operation of the lab. Meet at least once bi-weekly with the PI to evaluate progress; Organizing the lab to comply with the IACUC, biosafety, and biohazard standards.
    • Optimal coordination of lab resources and experiments
    • Budget and spending oversight and updates, planning and attending budget meetings with the PI.
    • Weekly material and supplies orders for the lab including checking the prices, asking for quotes, submitting the orders, and shipment tracking.
    • Coordinating and organizing meetings for PI
    • Preparing drafts and/or finalizing diverse letters, and documents (i.e., related to grant applications), coordinating lab website, forms, etc.
    • Supporting PI in organizing his teaching and course director duties including contacting instructors, collecting homework and exam questions, contacting students, etc.

Physical Effort

This position is primarily sedentary, but may need to walk between office/lab.
