Insight Global LAN Administrator in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Job Description

This individual will be responsible for maintaining the local area network for multiple locations, based mainly in the US and Mexico while managing the server that connects the network to computers and equipment. The day to day includes lots of hardware refreshes, replacing switches, and wireless access points. They will also be responsible for firewall changes including updating and modifying rules. A lot of this work is done remotely and they may never see or touch some locations so they must be comfortable doing this work remotely (but still required to work onsite 3 days a week). They will configure, manage, and support critical network devices and maintain a 99% uptime. Other daily tasks and responsibilities include the following:

  • Troubleshooting route, switch, firewall, and wireless issues.

  • Select, direct, and monitor the implementation of wired and wireless equipment for the business and process networks for supported sites.

  • Create and/or maintain current quality documentation of local area networks.

  • Effectively engage Level 1 (customer contact), Level 2 (initial troubleshooting and resolution)

Skills and Requirements

* Bachelor's Degree in a related field OR no degree -- 5 years of networking experience

* 3+ years of experience implementing/supporting network solutions with multi-platform Cisco Routers, Switches, VoIP.

* Proficient with CISCO products ( routers, switches)

* Experience configuring switches remotely

* Experience with firewall changes * CCNA

* Palo Alto null
