Mindex .NET/AWS Software Engineer - Remote in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Mindex's Product Division is dedicated to creating innovative products from the ground up. They are involved in every step of the process, from software development to sales, training, support, and maintenance. This division includes SchoolTool, New York State’s market-leading Student Management System designed to meet the unique needs of NYS K-12 schools, as well as the Mindex Integration Platform, focused on creating seamless out-of-the-box and custom integration solutions to address business application and process challenges.

We seek a .NET/AWS Software Engineer to join our growing team.

Essential Functions

  • Design, implement, debug and maintain complex systems.

  • Write unit tests, application code, tooling or other software as needed to satisfy business requirements.

  • Write REST Web Services and Angular Single Page Applications, especially advanced components such as directives.

  • Develop HTML5 and CSS using knowledge of deferred patterns (e.g., Promises, Observables).

  • Develop and design microservices using event-driven architecture within AWS (e.g., Event Bridge)

  • Work closely with the scrum master and product owner to understand requirements and design software solutions to satisfy requirements.

  • Collaborate with a team of software engineers and testers, using a scrum based agile software development methodology.

  • Write technical documentation of system changes in conformance with department standards.

  • Maintain awareness of technological developments in computer hardware and software systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field

  • Three years of extensive software development experience in Microsoft .NET and C#, including: experience building and consuming RESTful or SOAP API’s for web services.

  • Experience with .NET Core, Web API, ASP.NET MVC

  • Experience building Web Applications using HTML5, CSS, Typescript, Angular

  • Experience with Postman, XUnit, profilers, continuous integration, and GIT

  • Familiarity with DynamoDb

  • Familiarity with AWS Technologies such as Lambda, SQS and SNS

  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment

The band range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, education, experience, training, certifications, internal equity, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at, or near, the top of the range for their role; and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The range for this role is $70,000 - $120,000.
