CTG is seeking to fill aSales Representative, Cosmeticsopening for our client inPittsburgh, PA.

Project Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Project Duration: 12 months


Position is part of the Sales organization. The account base includes regional and global accounts in the personal care market sector. Responsible for sales and promotion of materials which are specialty items.


  • Assist in development and implementation of short and long-term sales strategies & account plans for assigned customers to meet financial targets in alignment with Head of Cosmetics

  • Call on assigned customers to promote the use of materials in personal care applications. Accurately document call summary and appropriate follow up items. Assist with technical follow up to ensure achievement of sales.

  • Fill the project pipeline by identifying new business opportunities and pushing ongoing projects into sales in close cooperation with Business Development

  • Communicate customer requirements or market needs to proper internal personnel. This includes weekly update of activities and quarterly sales forecasts

  • Gather and assimilate market and competitive information

  • Negotiation price with customers including sales contracts and NDA’s etc. and also the handling of customer complaints

  • Actively participate in local industry organizations (NYSCC) to maintain awareness of industry issues and network across to relevant customers or potential customers. Participate in personal care industry trade shows. Acquire new customer by establishing relationships.

  • Maintain travel/entertainment budget.

  • Develop sufficient knowledge of C4C system to complete job requirements

  • Develop sufficient knowledge of product safety protocols to manage customer inquiries in the appropriate manner. Work closely with BD


  • BSc degree in Chemistry (preferably in Cosmetic Science)

  • 5 years’ experience in sales or business development in the Personal Care Industry

  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and remotely

  • Excellent communication, relationship, negotiation, analytical and organization skills in order to create & develop new sustainable business

  • Ability to relate effectively to people at all levels in the customer & internal organization and balanced sensitivity to customer concerns and business needs

  • Ability to elicit cooperation & influence business

  • Business development-oriented, highly motivated and flexible with the ability to prioritize time and effort to focus on business opportunities which have most chances to succeed

  • Good knowledge of cosmetic industry

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group is required.
