How will you make a difference? The Senior Controller – Digital Intelligence and Components leads the Controllership function for the Company’s Digital Intelligence business segment which provides a comprehensive suite of software-enabled solutions designed to improve customer safety, efficiency and productivity in the transportation and mining industries and Components business which provides components to new and existing freight cars. The Senior Controller partners with the Digital Intelligence and Components finance teams to ensure the integrity of financial information, analyze financial performance, and maximize forecasting accuracy. This role is also responsible for maintaining financial controls and identifying and implementing process improvements.

  • What do we want to know about you? Minimum of 8 years of accounting/finance experience

  • Public accounting and/or public company manufacturing experience

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance; MBA or similar a plus

  • CPA or similar certification

  • Proficient in US GAAP

  • Oracle and OneStream experience a plus

  • Ability to communicate effectively across functions and with executives

  • Ability to build professional and productive relationships within the organization

  • Travels and works overtime as required

  • What will your typical day look like?

  • Provide technical accounting guidance to business leaders to support the financial analysis of commercial agreements

  • Serve as a trusted business partner and advisor to the segment finance leadership team

  • Analyze complex customer contracts to ensure compliance with ASC 606

  • Advise US and international finance teams on accounting treatment for non-standard and/or judgmental transactions

  • Develop and maintain business-specific policies to drive consistent internal controls, accounting and financial reporting

  • Lead the month-end close process, including trouble-shooting ad-hoc issues, with support from the finance and global operations teams

  • Prepare and present financial information to corporate and business leadership

  • Support the contract performance margin review process to ensure that remaining billings and costs for long-term contracts are accurately forecasted and recognized

  • Collaborate with various functions across the organization to identify and implement process improvements

  • Manage the relationship with internal and external auditors
