Expedient Staff Accountant in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Expedient is hiring a Staff Accountant to join its Pittsburgh team. We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of basic accounting functions who is organized and can adapt quickly to take on new responsibilities and grow with the team. The Staff Accountant will work a hybrid schedule; some days in the office and some remote.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration

  • Previous work history in accounting is preferred but not required

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly skilled with MS Excel

  • Knowledge with Sage Intacct is a plus

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task to complete tasks accurately and timely

  • Organized and a strong communicator, both verbal and written

  • Mature understanding of confidentiality and discretion with company financial information

  • Proactive self-starter who can work both independently and collaboratively

    RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage month-end closing procedures across revenue and expense-related categories including recording journal entries

  • Effectively manage and meet time-sensitive deadlines

  • Calculate and record month-end accruals

  • Own and manage monthly balance sheet reconciliations

  • Complete and file property tax returns and handle related accounting

  • Collaborate with the Purchasing and AP teams to facilitate the purchasing and invoicing process

  • Collaborate with the Billing and Collections teams to ensure proper revenue recognition

  • Oversee the accounting of fixed assets including routine fixed asset audits

  • Manage unclaimed property and related filings

  • Complete payroll-related GL functions

  • Participate in other areas, including sales and use taxes, treasury-related functions, and bank reconciliations

    Your salary is directly related to your own experience and skills.  Annual salary range for this position is estimated at $50,000 to $60,000.
