Philips Supply Chain Operations Director in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Supply Chain Operations Director has responsibility for operations at key contract manufacturing partners in the S&RC (Sleep & Respiratory Care devices) supply chain, including accountability for all aspects of operational performance.

In this role, you are responsible for:

  • Overseeing operations with key Sleep & Respiratory Care (S&RC) supply chain partners, including all aspects of operational performance, including safety, quality, delivery, cost, S&OP, and sustainability

  • Acting as primary operational liaison with S&RC procurement and central commodity teams and key Contract Manufacturing (CM) partners

  • Owning operational excellence and capability development activity for assigned scope

  • Leading, managing and improving the monthly medium/long term planning process in conjunction with the Integrated Planning team to drive end-to-end alignment and facilitate joint decision-making between Philips and CMs regarding capital and inventory investment, and resourcing

  • Facilitating quarterly business review and operating plan alignment, including alignment of expectations for productivity funnel/execution, volume, resource planning, capacity investment, inventory, and cost planning

  • Owning and managing the inventory management process for finished goods and components at key CM partners, ensuring that inventory levels are optimized across the supply network to minimize excess and obsolete inventory, improve cashflow, and minimize expedite costs and purchase price variance (PPV)

  • Ensuring key financial and operational data flows between Philips and key CM partners are established and maintained, including periodic auditing

  • Driving CM partner quality performance in partnership with supplier quality to ensure supplier corrective action requests (SCARs) and nonconformances (NCs), supplier change notifications (SCNs) and supplier-initiated change requests (SICRs) are executed in a timely and effective manner

  • Monitoring supplier delivery and operational performance and leading corrective action efforts in conjunction with CM counterparts to address gaps

  • Managing communication of key disruptions, recovery plans and supply implications with S&RC leadership, in partnership with Integrated Planning

  • Overseeing key industrial transfer activity, including sourcing programs both at tier-1 and lower-tier supply chain partners to ensure alignment with operational plans

  • Working together with finance, procurement and engineering to underpin annual productivity targets and ensure alignment of funnel activity at CM partner and within Philips, including managing plan changes and deviations

  • Acting as the primary voice of CM partners in S&RC Integrated Supply Chain forums

You're the right fit if you have a customer-first attitude and the following:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or closely related field

  • 10 + years of experience in operations management, end-to-end planning, inventory management, sourcing, supply chain financials, and / or supply chain modeling

  • Ability to be highly effective at leading conversations that influence and drive optimized decisions with multiple executive stakeholders

  • Experience handling supplier relationships within a manufacturing/production environment. Ability to handle problems or conflicts with others openly and directly

  • Proven experience with contract manufacturing relationship management and 3rd party operations in the medical device industry

  • Strong analytical skills to assess, frame and drive data-driven decisions

  • Strong knowledge of ERP and operational data tools/systems. SAP experience is preferred

  • Anility to effectively manage multi-party negotiations

  • Extensive experience in leading cross-functional teams to achieve results by identifying and aligning to shared goals, priorities, and commitments. Ability to hold peers, partners and self-accountable to commitments
