UPMC Team Leader, EVS (Housekeeping) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Description:

Ensure the assigned areas, including patient rooms, public areas, and equipment are properly cleaned according to the procedures established by the Environmental Services Department.

Work with and coordinate assigned Environmental Services Aides.

Responsibilities:

  • In the absence of the shift supervisor, temporarily act in a supervisory capacity; assume the responsibilities of the shift supervisor.

  • Report problems and suggestions to the shift supervisor

  • Responsible for communicating information to employees.

  • Communicate with unit personnel and other departments regarding specific needs in order to complete assignments.

  • Ensure that the daily work of all team members is assigned and that team members are working in assigned area.

  • Ensure that sufficient supplies and equipment are available for subordinates. Report all problems to the shift supervisor.

  • Inspect and ensure that all assigned areas are properly cleaned and in good repair.

  • Follow all safety and sanitation regulations, reporting problems to the shift supervisor.

  • Comply with all Hospital/Department policies and procedures.

Education

High School Diploma or GED preferred but is not required.

Work History:

Two years of professional housekeeping experience required (must be listed on your resume).

Leadership in a work setting preferred (such as employee management) is preferred but not mandatory.

Skills Required:

Ability to coach team members on achieving goals and developing skills.

Ability to improve team weaknesses and maintain team strengths

De-escalate and resolve conflicts.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Act 34
