Northwell Health Histology Technician in Plainview, New York

We are looking for a Histologic Technician to work for our client, a lab in Plainview. In this role you would be responsible for performing testing and preparing body fluids and tissues that are critical to the diagnostic process in determining health and disease.

This is a full-time direct hire position. Hourly pay is $45-$50 depending on experience. Morning, day and overnight shifts available!

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Prepare tissue samples for microscopic examination by a pathologist

  • Perform routine and special staining techniques on tissue specimens

  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments

  • Ensure accurate labeling, tracking, and documentation of specimens

  • Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment

  • Collaborate with pathologists and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate and timely results

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology from an accredited institution or equivalent required

  • Licensed by New York State Education Department (NYSED) as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist, Technician, Histotechnician, Pathologists Assistant or equivalent required

  • ASCP certification preferred

  • Proficiency in laboratory techniques, including aseptic technique and specimen processing

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures

Salary: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week

The salary range for this position is $93,600-$104,000/year
