As part of the Demand Generation business organization, you will lead consumer and shopper marketing initiatives and all Go-To-Market and launch consumer activities for the assigned categories. You will serve as the brand strategic and thought leader to include consumer segmentation and targeting, and development of marketing strategies in conjunction with the creative marketing team. This role includes all elements of the marketing mix and will require working with strategic growth customers in both the retail and carrier markets
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Leading the development and execution of insight-based 360 shopper marketing plans in partnership with channel and product teams and agency partners to drive consumer traffic, share, and equity growth for these categories.
Own and guide the use of all Marketing Development Funds collaborating with product, channel, and account teams to ensure effective use of both Above The Line and Below the Line spend for the categories.
Coordinate all National/ Regional, Digital and Social, Public Relations, Brand Marketing efforts to assure successful product launches and sell-through initiatives. You must have demonstrated success leading marketing teams and establishing effective working relationships with company sales, product management, and HQ support personnel.
Identifying new business development opportunities and programs, Lead product launch and promotions activities, Sales support request for market knowledge and customer presentations Develop and deliver promotional materials and events to generate customer demand.
Manage market development funds including above the line and below the line budgeting for the categories Create 360 degree marketing programs to drive consumer engagement and growth with strategic customers.
Work collaboratively with customers to understand their strategies and provide shopper insights expertise/recommendations that maximize category sales & profitability
Maintain close and frequent working relationship with marketing services, channel management, SEA sales, product marketing, and other demand generations teams to align to and optimize sell thru initiatives.
Lead all marketing launch preparation with retail and carrier partners to include joint launch initiatives, assortment merchandising, and in-store communication of key product and consumer messaging Strategic leadership of shopper insights initiatives in partnership with category and consumer insights teams
Analyze shopper insights and apply these insights to existing category, customer and brand plans
Bring innovative and equity-building mindset to all tasks – from identification of new test and learn concepts to new ways to engaging This position will require travel to customer locations, corporate HQ, trade shows, etc. requires 20% of time.
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising or related field required.
4+ years’ work experience with experience in product marketing or related area.
Brand marketing fundamentals (consumer/shopper, equity/products, go to market) and in particular, the ability to identify and translate specific consumer and shopper insights, and broader category insights, into a single minded strategy and action plan that deliver on specific growth objectives and goals
Solid customer relationship skills. Direct retail or carrier marketing experience a plus.
Experiencing leading and working with marketing agencies to deliver integrated marketing plans, initiatives and promotions
Highly organized/detail oriented with ability to manage multiple priorities
Experience in budget management and tracking.
Experience in developing marketing and sales presentations, using Word, Excel and PowerPoint.Necessary Skills / AttributesDevelop and maintain excellent working relationships with all appropriate levels within and outside the company.Plan, organize, and prioritize multiple assignments and projects.Read and interpret marketing documents, media materials, and contracts (or related documents) based on corporate legal and marketing standards and philosophy.Demonstrated competency in both oral and written communication modes for internal and external personnel at all levels, especially in the sales and marketing, logistical, or financial areas of clients, prospects, and company.Superior level of collateral development and project management skills, including the ability to prepare written plans and schedules, identify objectives, create promotional materials, coordinate and direct project teams, manage creative developers, select and control printing and production resources, and manage budgets.Work independently and in a team environment in order to achieve personal and team goals and complete assignments within established time frames.Ability to negotiate on behalf of function to come to agreement by managing communications through discussions and compromise; issues are short-term operational and medium-term tactical or limited strategic nature.
Physical/Mental Demands and Working Conditions: The position requires the ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities in the following environment:
Work is generally performed in an office environment.
Operate a computer keyboard and view a video display terminal 50% of work time, including prolonged periods of time.
The movement and transportation of equipment, most of the time under 25 pounds.
