Job Description:

Primary Responsibilities

  • Build reporting capabilities for internal customers of Third Party Data, focusing on Sourcing, Vendor Management, Governance, Risk, Invoice, and Spend subject areas

  • Provide architectural guidance to MicroStrategy developers

  • Participate directly in development and architecting activities within MicroStrategy

  • Lead requirement gathering, design, and status-update sessions to see deliverables to completion

  • Participate in modeling/design sessions to drive best-practice reporting data models for MicroStrategy

  • Assist in the management of the team’s agile development queue for monthly reporting changes

  • Partner with peer groups to complete reporting deliverables (e.g. business analysts, ETL, BI admins, etc.)

  • Coach and guide junior teammates to strengthen overall team’s delivery capabilities

  • Collaborate with business and technology leaders to drive business intelligence innovation to align to the Global Procurement digital strategy

  • Build and maintain strong and credible relationships with key business partners to promote transparency and collaboration

  • Deliver solutions in accordance with Enterprise Data Management standards Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on MicroStrategy (minimum version 10.4) Experience as an Architect and Developer across the entire stack of products

  • 5+ years of practical SQL experience

  • 5+ years of data warehouse/reporting experience utilizing dimensional reporting techniques

  • Demonstrated understanding of dimensional and relational modeling concepts, especially in how they are used in MicroStrategy

  • Must be able to actively participate in data model design reviews and recommend a data model design that supports reporting requirements and works best with MicroStrategy. Examples include design considerations for historical reporting (type 2 tables vs snapshot tables), trending, aggregations, transformations, referential integrity, and, denormaliztions.

  • Experience in liaising with business analysts in translating business requirements into reporting solutions

  • Experience delivering full lifecycle BI solutions (end to end), from requirements gathering, to data model design, report build out, testing, deployment, and production support.

  • Strong problem solving skills and analytical skills.

  • Experience in performance tuning long-running reports

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to communicate with senior business partners, business analysts and technology teams.

  • Strong prioritization and time management skills.

  • Self-motivated with a desire to continually learn and explore

  • Desired Qualifications

  • Understanding of the MicroStrategy administration function and its impact on development, such as ACL, Object Migrations, Command Manager, Integrity Manager, Security Filters, and Enterprise Manager

  • Oracle Exadata experience

  • Experience partnering with Analytics and Data Science teams

  • Tableau Exposure

  • Exposure to data wrangling tools

  • Experience with MicroStrategy Dossier and Mobile

  • Experience working with co-located teams across various countries and time zones

  • Exposure to procurement functions (e.g. Plan/Source, Manage/Govern, Spend, Vendor Management)
