Ethos Veterinary Health Veterinary Assistant Training Program in Portsmouth, New Hampshire
Port City Veterinary Referral Hospital is thrilled to announce openings for our Veterinary Assistant paid training program.
This is a full-time paid position providing comprehensive training introducing the foundations to explore further career opportunities in the veterinary medical field. No previous veterinary experience required!
About Us: At Port City, we are on a mission to advance the future of veterinary medicine. Our facility is equipped with Digital Radiography, Ultrasound, CT, and MRI supporting our nine veterinary specialties. Your contribution to patient care is highly valued, and we support your journey toward specialty certification.
What to Expect:
Hands-On Experience: Work and earn for 30 to 40 hours per week in our state-of-the-art hospital with a scheduled rotation through each specialty.
Blended Curriculum: Engage in a dynamic curriculum that combines online learning with hands-on training.
Paid Learning Time: Receive dedicated time to complete the online portion of your training.
Guidance from Experts: Partner with a veterinary training expert who will ensure you have all the information and resources needed for success.
Upon Completion of the Program, You Will Be:
Skilled and Knowledgeable: Proficient in animal hygiene and husbandry, patient handling, medical terminology, sanitation, laboratory testing, and record-keeping.
Eligible to take a nationally approved exam and receive corresponding credentials.
Ready for Advancement: Encouraged to consider a full-time position within one of our specialty departments nationwide!
Compensation:
$15.75 - $17.75 pending skill leveling assessment
Anticipated Schedule:
Three- 12-hour shifts or Four 10-hour shifts (depending upon educational rotation)
Days and/or overnights
One weekend day per week
Holiday assignments are based on seniority
Requirements of our Approved Veterinary Assistant Program:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Ability to read, write, and speak English is required
Knowledge and practical application of basic math (including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) is required.
Able to work overnights, some holidays and weekends, as needed
