Our client, a large food manufacturer in Dutchess County, NY, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join their team. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in machine maintenance and PLC Programming, as well as a strong mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot failures in system programming and make any necessary corrections.

Job Title: Maintenance Technician / PLC Programmer

Location: Poughkeepsie, NY

Pay Range: $30.00/hr

2nd Shift- Monday-Friday 1pm-10pm

What’s the Job?

• Ability to troubleshoot failures in system programming and make necessary corrections.

• Support Maintenance team with the management of inventory and replenishment of parts

• Work directly with the Maintenance Manager and other mechanics to troubleshoot and repair equipment and infrastructure.

• Ensure plant machinery is operating at peak efficiency, repair equipment and perform various preventative maintenance operations.

• Dismantles machinery to gain access to and remove / repair defective parts

What’s Needed?

• Knowledge of basic electrical, mathematical, mechanical and plumbing skills.

• Must be able to carry, twist, bend, crouch, kneel, reach, and stoop.in conjunction with frequent lifting up to 50 pounds. Physical strength and dexterity to perform essential functions.

• Standing or walking 100% of the time and if the need arises must be able to work in a freezer.

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, contracts, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals

• Experience with Allen Bradly PLC programming language; Ladder Logic and Function Blocks at minimum.
