The Application Identities Platform Team is part of the Microsoft Entra organization (formerly called Azure Active Directory), which provides the Identity and access management platform for Microsoft 365, Azure, and many software companies to help them create cloud services that are resilient, scalable, and secure. Our team helps developers create identities for their applications that allows them to access resources securely, and at the same time providing administrators and end users with tools and features that help them make informed and safe decisions when they need to share their data with applications.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer that can help us with the challenging task of delivering cloud services that implement new capabilities and enhance existing ones in this highly complex area, focusing on aspects such as ease of management, developer experience, permission granularity and large-scale adoption.

Responsibilities would include:

• Architect, design, develop cloud services that provide application identity authentication and authorization facilities.

• Work closely with customers and partners to understand their requirements and scenarios, and effectively lead engineering v-teams towards delivering the necessary solutions.

• Collaborate with other engineers, program managers, and designers across the Microsoft Entra organization and beyond to deliver end-to-end experiences for managing and using application identities safely, securely and with ease.

• Drive innovation and quality in our engineering processes and practices, and foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and learning. Mentor other engineers and help them achieve more and grow.

• Stay abreast of the latest trends and developments in the identity and security domains, and apply them to our products and services.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science or related field (OR equivalent work experience)

  • Principal/Lead Engineer level of experience in software engineering

  • Experience in architecting and designing complex software systems or services.

  • Excellent collaboration, problem-solving skills, and ability to drive changes across multiple organizations.

  • Experience of developing and managing requirements, resources, schedules and making data-driven decisions.
