We are the team responsible for building new Oracle Cloud service that allows to query data across diverse cloud providers without managing databases. Our aim is to empower customers to concentrate solely on executing their workloads.

We​ ​are​ ​responsible​ ​for​ ​following​ ​components:

  • Asynchronous query procesing

  • Integration with internal infrastructure services

Basic​ ​Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s​ ​Degree​ ​in​ ​Computer​ ​Science​ ​or​ ​related​ ​field

  • 5+​ ​years​ ​professional​ ​experience​ ​in​ ​software​ ​development

  • Computer​ ​Science​ ​fundamentals​ ​in​ ​data​ ​structures

  • Computer​ ​Science​ ​fundamentals​ ​in​ ​algorithm​ ​design​ ​and​ ​problem​ ​solving

  • Demonstrated​ ​proficiency​ ​with​ ​Java,​ ​Golang,​ ​or​ ​equivalent​ ​object-oriented programming​ ​language

  • Ability​ ​to​ ​quickly​ ​learn​ ​new​ ​programming​ ​languages​ ​and​ ​tools

  • Strong​ ​verbal​ ​and​ ​written​ ​communication​ ​skills​ ​and​ ​an​ ​ability​ ​to​ ​work​ ​in​ ​a​ ​team environment

About Us

We are the team responsible for building Query Service. Our team is distributed and based in Prague (currently 7 engineers), Netherlands (3 engineers), Redwood City (4 engineers) and Mexico (5 engineers) and belongs to database organization.

Our components are mostly distributed systems developed with various programming languages: Java, Golang, Rust and integrates with many external systems and services, e.g. for persistence, security, …. We are building systems that store data in memory with replications, developing data structures optimised for expected workloads.

Besides the development, our responsibility is also to monitor and manage our components in productions that is great opportunity to get insights into our products and get quickly feedback about broken functionality.

We are looking for candidates that have passion for technology and are interestedin building cloud distributed systems. They don’t need to be star in Java or other language but more important is that they have open mind to learn new technology, are a proactive and go-getter kind of person.

Responsibilities

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.
