PCG's Financial & Strategic Solutions (FSS) Center of Excellence (COE) within Health is seeking a Sr. Operations Analyst for the Shared Solutions Group (SSG). The Sr. Operations Analyst will ideally have strong data management skills and some quality assurance experience. PCG Health supports hundreds of healthcare providers and State Medicaid agencies to complete, review, and process Medicaid and Medicare cost reporting requirements. Throughout these project efforts the operations team is responsible for the intake of financial and statistical data and developing tools for the categorization of cost data by the business team leads. They complete the aggregation and automated input of data into approved Medicaid cost report templates, ensuring the accuracy of the calculation of results, completing quality assurance processes to ensure cost of data reconciles back to source files, and perform trend analyses to identify outlier issues.

This role will report to the Quality Assurance Manager, whose goal is to achieve rigor into SSG's operational processes. The Sr. Operations Analyst will assist and contribute to establishing quality control standards to ensure accuracy in our data calculation and aggregation processes, creating standards for peer-to-peer review, and perform audits of completed cost reports to ensure quality assurance expectations are met.

Responsibilities

Q uality Assurance and Control

  • Assist with quality assurance processes surrounding Medicaid cost settlement and supplemental payment work.

  • Review and improve quality control and quality assurance mechanisms.

  • Create and assist with documentation (e g. , guides, standard operating procedures, etc. ).

  • Assist management in establishing and promoting quality standards.

  • Monitor and track data received from providers.

  • Complete quality assurance checks for assigned projects.

  • Perform quality review of work completed by other staff.

Leadership and Supervision

  • Organize and distribute work within the Quality Assurance team.

  • Provide supervision and support for junior staff.

  • Contribute to decision making and goal-setting for the team.

Project Management

  • Collect, manage, and document data flow on a large set of projects.

  • Monitor progress both internally and communicate with partners to complete assignments within timelines.

Data Management

  • Responsible for larger-scale data management tasks that touch a large number of projects.

  • Assess and transform Excel data to be compatible with pre-defined templates.

  • Load data into pre-defined templates and confirm correct entry and interaction with automated functions.

  • Identify and communicate data quality issues and summarize requirements for follow-up.

  • Validate data management tasks performed by junior team members.

  • Manage a queue of data management tasks with prompt delivery and clear communication.

Data Analysis and Validation

  • Conduct financial analysis of cost reports including trend analysis, variance analysis, and root cause data investigations.

  • Gathering and interpreting cost and/or ratio data to identify variances and trends, create reports and perform advanced analysis when necessary.

  • Perform “desk audits” of cost reports, validating data submitted against supporting documentation. Assist internal client team with audit management ( g., SOC, comprehensive audit reviews, etc. ).

  • Communicate with internal clients about data discrepancies, missing information, needed documents, upcoming deadlines, and status.

  • Appropriately escalate issues within the team.

  • Provide first line client support via group email box and shared phone help line. Other Special projects as assigned.

· Ability to effectively and independently present information and respond to questions from project managers and other colleagues.

· Experience in performing audits and other quality assurance reviews.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree is required

Experience:

· 6+ years professional experience, including financial and data management

· Advanced knowledge of Excel

· Experience with or knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, or Healthcare

· Health and FSS background

· Must have 1-2 years of supervisory / management experience

Compensation

Compensation for roles at Public Consulting Group varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, PCG provides the following reasonable range of compensation for this role: $60,000-$75,000. In addition, PCG provides a range of benefits for this role, including medical and dental care benefits, 401k, PTO, parental leave, bereavement leave.
