Tarana Wireless Manager/Technical Lead: Network Software Development in Pune, India

In this role you will lead the teams to innovate and solve problems of high ambiguity and high impact. You will drive design choices, trade-offs, priorities and timelines. You will demonstrate exceptional management skills and technical expertise, and practical experience building complex embedded systems. You are data and metric driven, and obsessively concerned about performance under resource constrained environments. You will mentor and inspire team, participate in defining our engineering culture, and help to build a fast-growing and highly self-motivated team. You will draw from your deep and broad technical and management expertise to mentor senior engineers, complete hands-on technical work and provide leadership on complex technical issues, design tradeoffs, and feature and schedule prioritization.  You will be leading the team designing and developing the critical elements for the network stack of our wireless communication systems including data plane, control plane, management plane, and security. This includes:

  • Network services (switching, traffic management/classification, SLA enforcement, security) for data/control/management plane traffic for point-to-multipoint wireless access systems 

  • Network and Device management - configuration, telemetry, alarms, diagnostics

  • Certificate based authentication, certificate rollover/management

  • Infrastructure components and utilities towards packet processing, improving packet-processing debuggability

    ** This position requires working from Pune , India

    Required Skills & Experience: 

  • BE/BTech in Computer Science/Engineering with at least 10 years of experience (5 years of relevant software development experience and  5 years of management experience delivering complex features)

  • Advanced knowledge of computer networks (TCP/IP), protocols, Internet architecture

  • Deep understanding of UNIX-style operating systems (IPC, multi-threading etc)

  • Experience in socket, network, and systems programming in C/C++ 

  • Previous experience in telecom/embedded software development for carrier and/or enterprise products is a huge plus

  • Experience with version control systems, collaboration tools (wikis, ticket systems)

    Expertise in at least one of the following areas:

  • Packet forwarding, routing, bridging, switching, VLANs, ethernet services, ethernet OA&M

  • Network/cloud management systems and configuration/provisioning/administration systems (SNMP, Yang Models, NetConf, LDAP, HTTP, OpenFlow, TR-69)

  • Authentication, security, encapsulation and tunnelling technologies (IPSec, CAPWAP, 802.1x etc)

  • Network-layer implementation of 802.11, LTE or other OFDM standards
